What you’ll do:

The Regional Transportation Manager is responsible for the safety, leadership, full P & L ownership, and operational improvement of their facilities within Divert’s transportation network. This role ensures alignment between their transportation operations, company objectives, and customer expectations. The manager will drive performance through data-driven decision-making using defined KPIs, development and leadership of team members (Supervisors and Drivers), and implementation of best-in-class transportation practices. While routine, facility operation daily tasks are delegated to site-level teams, the manager maintains accountability for their site’s transportation safety culture, profitability, compliance, serviceability, and overall performance results. This position reports directly to the Director of Logistics.

Success is defined by clear, measurable improvement in the safety program and results, significant and continual improvement in EBITDA, and in customer health metrics.

Location: the person in this role will be remote and will be required to reside in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada or Idaho to support the region they will oversee

Travel: up to 50% annually

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Performance Management

  • Oversee, coach, and develop Transportation Supervisors in achieving safety, service, and performance targets
  • Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor network efficiency, cost, and service quality
  • Execute transportation strategies to drive improvements in those KPIs.
  • Drive standardization and consistency for their sites in transportation operational processes, metrics, and reporting
  • Foster collaboration, engagement, and a positive work culture across all transportation teams and drivers

Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management

  • Champion a proactive safety culture across all transportation operations, including robust training plans and expectations that promote proactive, leading indicators
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and other relevant regulatory standards through regular audits and policy reviews
  • Partner with Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality and adhere to DOT Compliance needs to continuously improve driver safety programs and reporting systems

Financial Ownership & Profitability Maximization

  • Manage and drive regional transportation P & L, including budgets, analyze variances, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains
  • Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and business case development for logistics investments

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process, technology, and/or network improvements that optimize transportation cost, asset utilization, and service performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure transportation solutions meet operational and customer needs within the scope of your remit
  • Oversee the effective use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and/or other logistics technology tools to streamline efficacy

What we’re looking for:

  • H.S. diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred
  • Two (2) years or more P&L responsibility required
  • Five (5) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required
  • Five (5) years or more managing, leading and developing direct reports required
  • Hands on software experience - transportation management systems software such as WMS, WMOS, TMS, and/or OMS; ERP systems and routing software is preferred
  • Proven ability to develop and implement equipment, cycle planning, policies, and training programs.
  • Strong data analytics and financial analysis skills, with experience optimizing transportation performance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision in a remote/hybrid environment.
